Judy Shelton’s Fed affirmation unsure as a 3rd Republican senator will oppose nomination

A 3rd Republican senator stated Monday he would oppose the affirmation of a nominee of President Donald Trump to a seat on the Federal Reserve’s board of governors, organising an in depth vote as quickly as this week.

In an announcement, Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., stated he wouldn’t help the nomination of Judy Shelton, an outspoken critic of the central financial institution and shut ally of Trump’s financial adviser Larry Kudlow, leaving her with help from not more than 50 senators.
